Food View Quick Help
Use the Food View to enter your daily food intake, the Food View works much like a spreadsheet with cells for the food name, quantity and nutrient values, you can cut, copy and paste lines and undo/redo operations.
To log a food, first select a meal line then simply start typing the food name. As you type matching foods are shown in the search dropdown, use the up/down arrow keys (or the mouse) to select the required food or continue to type to narrow the search. Once you have selected the food press tab to continue to the next column to enter the quantity and units (e.g. 2.5 oz), press tab to complete the quantity enty. As you tab out of the quantity field the nutrient values will be calculated for you.
If you cannot find the food you are looking for, or a suitable replacement, then you can select the New Food entry in the list and press tab to enter the food details into the database. Alternatively if the food is a one-off, that you do not expect to eat again, so do not wish to add to the food database, you can use the Quick Entry option to directly add the nutrient values onto the spreadsheet.
As you add foods in this way you will see the daily totals and summary panels update.
